Rapid Prediction of Total Petroleum Hydrocarbons in Soil Using a Hand-held Mid-infrared Field Instrument
This paper demonstrates that RemScan can be calibrated with high accuracy for very different soil types, a carbonate dominated clay from Padova region of Italy, a kaolinite dominated clay from north Western Australia and a loam from Nigeria. Correlation coefficients (R2) of 0.99 were routinely achieved. This shows that RemScan has the accuracy to be used for routine commercial use.
